You know, for all the questions a man has to answer, none really excites me more than “So, how’d you two meet?”!
A man will tell TONS of stories before his ascension, yet none will elicit more emotion than the story of how he came to meet the woman he crowns his Queen. People will see the dozens of roses, the edible arrangements, the bae-cation photos, the new this and that, and wonder who is this who has captured the heart of this young lion!
People will see them out and about, the loving gazes exchanged that say so much without ever a single word; much to the chagrin of eavesdropping, envious lovers on their own quest for their happily-ever-after! And, after the years have accumulated, after the Google drive storage units need their own independent exabyte sized hard drives, after the push gifts, the dream house, and that one watch from Van Cleef and Arpels that draws the envy of all with eyes have been purchased, the story that will carry the dreams of your grandchildren; filling their eyes with tears, and their hearts with utter glee should also fill your heart with sheer gaiety!
For, how rare and beautiful is true love? Many will seek, yet never find its passion, its wholly, soulfully satisfying taste. Yet, others will find it and squander their opportunity at having a caring ear to expose their innermost fears, dreams, goals, and desires to. But, for those of us who know not to look a gift horse in the mouth; those of us who will find this gem inside a gem, this dream within a dream come true and NOT give in to their insecurities to fight and keep their slice of heaven, it will be quite the story! One that will live on into perpetuity!
I can’t wait to tell my story! Share the intimate wedding photos from Fiji, or the concert pics from Tokyo, or the time we conceived our second daughter in Lisbon! I will tell it with such fervor as my granddaughter sits on my lap, holding onto old Pop-pop with the silver beard, half buttoned Dolce & Gabbana oxford smelling of Tom Ford Oud Wood, expensive cab. sauv., cigars, and romantic fairy tales!
It is a story every man should desire to share, and every woman should live! So, get ready to fire up a pot of that imported African coffee, and slice up that tiramisu from that bakery the misses, or mister loves more than Christmas! Because, in the words of our rap Lord and Savior, the late, great Christopher Wallace; “grab the keys to the five, call my niggas on the cell, bring some weed, I got a story to tell…uhh!”
